Yup, the Javelin is a very effective weapon. Saw many a T-72 in Iraq that looked just like that.

There was an item on the news last night about the Royal Marines, they've now got Javelin to replace their Milan launchers.

Pretty effective? I'm not an expert but seems like one hell of an effective weapon! Not much T-72 tank left

Well DAvid
Fast calculation => for a 1/35 dio for a T-72 destroy by a Javellin yields at least a 2*2 m square base :-) :-)
Some one interested ??

First off, there is a video of this out there as well...sorry, no URL to post.
Second, the photo's/video are misleading. While the Javeline is indeed very effective, the "test" as shown in the pictures was staged a bit...they not only gave the T-72 in questions a full battel-load, as they certainly should have, but also loaded the turret and fighting compartment with artillery shells and 5 gallon cans of gasoline. I got this information from one of the people involved in the "test" and it was stated they did it to really impress the attending Brass... :-) I believe they had to put a sticker on the Javeline after this that stated "Results from training video are atypical"! :-) :-)

A soldier would be very affective against a tank by Javelin. During Tank attack, the taks should be supported by infantry because of Javelin so the tanks could be protected against Javelin carrying soldiers
