Just wanted to let you guys no I really am working on this.

I’m trying to build the M2 as it was during the Gulf War.

Here are some pictures of what I have so far.

I also have most of the internal pieces built and in varies stages of painting.

Also if any one has any advice. I’m trying to find something to replace the radiator screen on the front of the vehicle. The screen has a nice sized dent right in the middle of it. Considering its textured I don’t want to simply putty it.
Right now I’m thinking of finding some kind of fabric I can use to simulate the screen.

I would also like to point out that Epi (Pete) has been a great help on this project so far bu supplying me with reference pictures and answering my questions on the M2.
So thanks again Pete.

I would appreciate any comments good or bad as well as any tips or advice.

No problem Jacob, glad to be of service.

Keep me posted on the radiator fix.

Love what I see so far.
Need any more picytures, just let me know and if you want, I sent all the pictures to Don at Prime Portal, so you can go back there to see if I missed any I didn't send you.

As Pete already wrote, your model looks good so far. At first glance I thought your used the Blast running gear due to the different color but the sprocket appears to be the Tamiya kit one.

Have you made new rear hull bins ?

Pete thanks. I’ll check the site out latter and see.
I’ll also let you know if I find something for the screen. Still have a few more things to try.

Olivier no I simply added a coat of paint to the wheels. I’ve been working on them separately and just stuck them on the hull to keep from losing them when the tooth picks they had originally been on were needed for something else.
I think the only thing I added in these pictures is the holes in the things up front to hock a chain onto. (Can’t think of what there called right now) well and of course filling the 2 big holes under it and going against the paint guide at places.

I should probably also point out it Academys rebox of the Tamiya kit. I don’t know if they changed anything or not.

Looking good so far. Academy's is a direct copy of Tamiys, no changes. Good luck on it and keep us posted.

I think we are approaching a Company's worth of Brad models recently. Keep up the good work by all....

looks great, can you tell what color did you use for the interior?

And BEWARE OF THOSE TRACKS. The treads of the Academy Bradley are AWFUL

Cheers and keep up the good work

Looks like its coming along well.

Im almost tempted to consolidate all the photos of the various Bradley submissions for this campaign and display them side by side for all to see.

Not sure if its possible to do a feature on campaign submissions but im sure the Editors will help clarify this.

Thanks guys.

Klaus the paint is Testors acrylic light green.
Just one question. What’s wrong with there tracks? I haven’t had a real good look at them yet but they appeared look accurate.

Jeremy that sounds like an interesting idea.

Thanks for the info buddy

I´m not refering about the accuracy of the tracks (maybe Gino could help with that matter), I´m going to the quality of them.....too soft vinyl, flashy and not very strong.....

Cheers

Oh sorry I misunderstood you.
Thanks for the warning.

The fact that there soft may actually be a good thing for me. I’m thinking I may try scratching the pads up a bit to make them look a little worn. Haven’t tried this before so I don’t know how it will turn out.

I actually can. The Academy ones are actually wrong because the V on the track pad is 180 degrees out. It should point toward the larger end of the track. It points toaward the thinner end on the Academy ones. You can see it below when compared to correct Tamiya tracks. To the average viewer, this is not noticable though.

As for the quality, they are no softer or more stretchy than the Tamiya ones. The rubber appears about the same quality too.

Thanks Gino.

I may still use the academy tracks but put them backwards so the pads face right. I’m thinking Wouldn’t be too noticeable that way.

Of course if I do damage them or really mess up the weathering I’ll try and find a set of tamiyas.

I would still use them, they aren't that noticable, unless you really know what you are looking for. I wouldn't install them backwards though. The pads should look like a "V" when viewed from the front.

Hi Gino,
you're on Armorama website, do you really think there is any average viewer here and not only high specialists :-) :-)

Just a thought, Jacob could remove the visible pads and redo good ones in the right directions. A modeler did that when the Heller Leclerc was issued. The tracks are so bad that he used AFV M1A1 tracks and redid the visible pads. It's time consuming but not that much considering that few remain visible.

PS: I don't know if I would have done it myself

I didn't mean the average Armorama viewer.

Especially since we are becoming quite prolific at Bradleys. Like I said above, I think this makes about a Company's worth here at Armorama. :-) :-)

Hey, where's the green beer and shamrock emoticon????

Guess this will have to do: Imagine it is a Guiness!!! Happy St Pat's Day!!!

Yea I just had a look at them and see what you mean. I was thinking the kit had the pads backwards.

I plan on adding them with the pads the right direction according to my reference pictures. (Same way the kit shows)

Olivier that's an idea but I probably have to agree that it’s a little too much work for me.
