Planning on using Dragon's 1/35 LCSS (Light Seal Support Craft) in a
16" by 19" diorama. The LCSS will be disembarking Navy Seals at a river's bank in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. I'm unsure how many figures are needed and which figure set is suitable from Dragon. Is it possible to use a combination of them? Also any sites with photos as referance will help alot.

I believe the set your refering too already has some figs. Dragon also produces 2 seal team kits of the same era that can be matched to your LSSC.

A 16" x 19" dio is a fairly sized dio. How many figs you need will depend a lot on:

1. What's the storyline? This will actually fix your dio size and determine whether its an action scene (where you may or may not need VC/NVA figs) or just a simple disembarking scene.

2. How much water vs. land? If its going to be largely water then the figs that come with the LSSC may be enough. Water is usually a wee bit harder to recreate.

3. Is it set in a jungle/river scenario or a village/river scenario?

4. Is this your first dio? A large dio for a beginner is usually tough as it involves a fair bit of planning. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying you don't have the experience but its just that 16 x 19 while not huge is not small either.

I just ordered the LSSC and one of the Seal set figures.
The story line is jungle/river scenario, 1/3 wil be water the other 2/3's will be jungle.I will not include any VC in the dio as of yet. I have made 3 other 16" x 19" dio's...one of them depicting US Marines making an
beach landing via an AAV. I used resin to make the water at the beach's edge...so I do have some experiance with that. The jungle will be new for me, but looking foward to the challenge. Thanks for the info.
