This is the Maple Leaf Models conversion for the Acavemy M-113. it is a comprehensive conversion, well cast, with clear instructions. The only fault with the conversion kit was that there were two right hand side mounting points for the spades. This was relativly easy to over come and did not detract from the quality of the kit. The tracks are Fruil, and the paint is Tamiya, with MIG pigments.
The green looks darker in the pictures than it is in RL, it is more an olive colour than a dark green.
Constuctive Comments, as usual, are welcome.

Really nice kit and an original subject too. It's good to see those uncommon versions of the M113.
One point though, the loop on the inner face of the roof hatch should not be poiting to the sky.
Just for my knowledge, this recovery vehicle has no MG at all ?

Thanks for the comments guys.......unfortunately there are no in progress pics, i tend to build first and later think "i should have taken pictures".
I was in a quandry about how to position the roof hatch handle. It can be either open or closed, so neither position would be correct as i could not make the loop movable. As to teh machine gun? If they do mount one i have not seen any pictures of this, and with this being a fairly rare conversion pictures are hard to come by, and the few i have show no machine gun mounted.

Thanks for that Jim, and the picture. I had only what looked like tech manual internal pics to work from, as well as the instructions, so it is nice to know i was not too far off on the interior.
As for the tracks? I did not even know they used different one, these are the ones i used

I suspect they are not the ones you are referring to, who makes them?

These are what the CDN tracks look like.
AFV Club sells them, they are made by H.K. Creations Workshop. They are sold as NATO track and drive sprocket.
These are the AFV tracks on my M113 Fitter.

Thanks for the pics Jim, if i am not wrong it looks like the difference is the shape of the rubber blocks with the NATO ones being square.....is that how you see it?

Well the details of the tracks are more different than that, but the most obvious one is that the pads do not line up directly behind each other. They are staggered to the left and right of the centreline of the track. The blocks are squarer, but stil rectangular.
