I got one of these this weekend. I compared it to the scans at perth modeling, pretty much a copy of Taniyas M2A2 before the new tracks and OIF sprue. Yes its motorized. But I tell you, if your on a tight budget like me, looks ok. Besides, a sheet of plastic, Vodnic and Olivers site, and Perths scan of the new sprue. And your on your way minus the tracks. Anyway, I just thought I'd give a heads up to the modelers who need the better deal. I know, I'd buy the new academy if I could, but at least I'm building one that looks the part now. Dont bum out on high cost, grab the evergreen (cheap), build what you can afford and have fun. Gary

Yup, it is a poor copy of Tamiya's M2A2 kit. It is buildable, but takes a lot more work to even get it up to the quality of a Tamiya M2A2, not to mention the M2A2 ODS kit. Good luck with it, you're gonna need it. The one I had had short-shot parts, lots of flash, and details about as soft as warm butter. Definitely not the best Bradley model out there.

I hear you. I'd be doing the better kit if I could. But I build what I can. I'll post a bunch of built, unpainted kits in my album after assembly so there will be somewhere to direct peaple when the questions come up again and again. Gotta give me credit, at least Im not whining about prices. Some guys drive Porsches, some guys get used Camaros! LOL

Good one
Gary , as long as you have fun with it , might be a nice challenge instead of the usual "shake and bake " Tamiya offerings

The HobbyCraft one is more like a rusted out '78 Datsun. The Tamiya kit I would rate as a classic '78 Camaro. It is still as "shake and bake" easy as the Tamiya kit, you just don't get as good of tasting pork chops when you are done with it. Still fun, if not frustratingly so.

I wonder if we will ever get a "Rolls Royce" Bradley :-)

Rolls Royce is supposed to be just around the corner. Looks like you'll be buying tracks though

I saw the post on the tracks Gary, I just hope someone brings out some reasonably priced AM tracks with the rectangular block , I model on a tight budget too and cringe at the thought of having to pay the price of the kit again for the correct tracks

Well, if its like theyre M1, you could make a mold of the spares. And run the mold over and over. After you get about ten, make a second ten cavity mold and so on.

Assuming you are refering to the Academy one. I wouldn't go that far. It is slightly better than the Tamiya M2A2 ODS and depicts a slightly different version, a new build M2A2 ODS as opposed to a upgraded or rebuilt M2A2 ODS as Tamiya's depicts. Still no interior though.

That would work, or you could buy the tracks from Tamiya for $5 a set, plus shipping.

Sorry Rob, the 1/72 ones just don't do it for me. Too small, soft detail and not enough of it. All the figures that go with them look like gnomes to me as well. I'll hold out for a better 1/35 version, hopefully with an upgraded ODS interior. One can wish.

You da man! No need to always drop $35+ on a kit to get a nice replica. I'm still amazed at how much Abrams I got for $10.00 from those re-boxed Trumpeter kits.

Well, now keep in mind, the data is indisputable. The Tamiya is the kit "if" you can justify spending the money. Unlike the M1 which is its own man. And I got mine minus shipping. Add shipping and its the deal breaker. But for $15, its less than me and my wife sitting down at a mexican restaraunt, and if I dont like the way it turns out I can put the motor in and chase my cats with it.
But to be serious, I just push the "can do" attitude. And I am working on resin stowage racks and CIP panels btw. And they will be nice.
