Hi you all
After a long time (been busy with painting some figures - And yes, still not done ) I've got the first update of the rubble of my very first Dio.
I only have done the back of the dio. I'm still waiting on the Lamppost of Verlinden Productions, so I wont be able to do the front.
This is the first build up of rubble... Maybe I'll add more bricks to it... The woodwork will come last...
As you can see, i've let some plaster undone at the wall. It's because I maybe will add some furniture (a shell to stock bread or something else from a backery) and it will be scrapped away then.
Just another question about the Floor of the first floor... Would I replace this one? I think the planks are too little from length... Could I use One or two planks for that lenght? And the ceiling (?) is made the same way, should I let that be open? So the woodwork will be seen from beneith? (?)
All comment are welcome!!
Wesley

It's good Wesley! As you say, the planks of the floor are a little short, but it would still work. If you decide to raplace them, break some and leave them hanging, along with a couple of wires, some fine tube maybe to represent plumbing?
The rubble lloks Ok, but could maybe be more coarse? Large bits? Some broken bits of wood sticking out etc?
Looking forward to seeing progress!
Vinnie

Looks good
My comment on the floor is that there is nothing to nail the ends of the 'off' board into. There should be a joist (perpendicular on edge board) under each seam so that a heavy weight doesn't pop or bend the board.
With whatever you do on the floor board add nail holes by pushing a pin in where a nail would be.
The rubble looks good.

Gday Wes
Coming along nicely here...
The rubble piles are showing potential, but you need some more random chunks that aren't placed lengthways on the piles; you know, have some jutting out (saillir?) As with what Vinnie said, for variety, you could destroy some of the floor and have the boards sticking out of the rubble piles...
Cheers mate

Here is what I am talking about
The "S" pattern of the floor boards creates the need to have two joists.

Hallo Wezz,
the planks looks ok for me. What is the lenght of them , 10-12 mm ?, so 30-40 cm in reel, they good be Parquet.
But, as Scott told you need to have more joists under the floor to support everything.
Joist = "Querbalken" in german and "solive" in french.
Look at the first pic, that s what Scott means
http://www.coteinterieur.com/parquet.php?id=1
So you need to remove the floor and by this occasion make a bit larger planks.
As to leave the ceiling, i think that's your choice how it should look. Modern with a ceilig and more rustic without.
Cheers
Claude
