Does anybody know what color that was used on the german WW2 panzers?

I tried using Xactrylix "German Panzer Interior", but it seems to be a bit to dark.

IIRC they were a white color. From all the walk around pics Ive seen, it seems to always be a lighter white color. Someone here will probably have a definate answer.

I guess ivory is a good way to discribe the color ...I've used the testor's Model Master interior color and I might lighten it if I were to use it again...

definitely a cream or ivory color, though many people will tell you white. but as far as i can tell, every german wwii panzer i have ever seen with a pure white interior has clearly been repainted.

also, sections of late war panzer interiors were left in the red oxide primer color.

To expand a little more on Richard's (thebear) post, Model Masters "Panzer Interior Buff", #2104 seems to be very close to any interior that I've seen...

I use Vallejo Light Sand. For Elfbein. For red oxide I use Tamiya Hull red lightened with Buff. Depending on the time frame you will also need Vallejo Interior Green for some parts.

This has all 3 colors:

The interior colour was IVory for the upper area, with black controls and levers; and a grey-green for the lower tub. Red primer was substituted for the latter late in the war. See this resource:

Exactly what I was going to suggest. The color was called interior buff. Kind of a creamy ivory color. You could also use off white and weather it. The MM color is semi-glossy and needs to be dulleda little for scale effect.

However I will sometimes use flat white and dirty it up.

Hi Henrik
I use Xtracolor X818 "German tank interior cream"
It's the nearest match I've found "straight from the tin"
and it comes out satin

The XA 818 "interior" color is the one I've used too. I got a bit unsure when people started to comment that it looked to dark...
