Gday all Anyone building this could help me? In reference to parts H3 and H8 which are a ring and flat piece of metal respectively~ What are they for? They are positioned on the upper edge of the turret; the ring in front of the loaders' hatch, the metal bar in front of the commanders' hatch. All reference pics I've seen have featured neither of these...
Help?
Cheers
Brad

The ring is an additional lift point which does appear on some T-23 turrets ( e.g. the one on an M4A3 on the cover of Michael Green's Sherman book) but I can't remember offhand whether it's fitted on the first batch of M4A1 (76).
As for the flat strip, which way does it go relative to the turret fore and aft or across? Might be the base for some sort of sighting vane.

It juts out of the turret side, square to the slight inward curve at the front of the turret just before the loaders' periscope guard. So from above, it points sliiiiightly forward whilst being square to the turrets' top edge...
From above the part looks rectangular, but with a tapering of its own on the outer side. Like putting a square then a triangle together, then cutting the pointed tip off flat... Now David, you have 15 seconds to solve this mystery :-)

You're link was firing blanks but I know you were gonna bring up sprue 'H' on PMMS... The piece can be seen next to the split hatch ring...

Now I've found the instructions on Hobby Search I know where it goes. Don't recall seeing it in photos...
