Hello everyone !
What is a good model to represent an israely M113 ?
I know academy does a IDF M113 Zelda. Is it a good model ?
Can I match the legend Production "IDF M113 Kasman Armor" set with it ?

Academy M113 Zelda is an excellent kit and represents an IDF M113 well. For an even more modern IDF 113, there are resin update sets to add the latest EEK spaced armor and new gunshields for the TC and rear gunners. I don't have any photos, but I'm sure someone does.

Hong Kong Creation Workshop makes a great IDF M113 Gen 5 EAAK M113 conversion. Check out their website at http://hkcw.tripod.com/index.html for photos and a dealer near you. (:-)

you might want to look at the AEF Designs web site as they offer a plethora of M113 Israeli variants.

As for matching the Legend Productions kit to it, I would safely say yes, as most M113 hulls are similar in shape/size, and also as Legends Production has a good working relationship with Academy.

Hi!
I got the Academy kit of Zelda, and I really think it's very good model, also it comes to a lot of extras that enable you to make another israeli M113 (a command radio post) just using another M113 kit.
If are you looking for the latest versions of this vehicle, I recomend you to check the AEF Desing site and see what you can have.
Cheers and happy new year

I have Academy Zelda kit and it is great.. The best M113 kit I've seen so far. It has complete Israeli style interior and as Paolo said it contains parts for M113 Command Post version, too...
As for the HKCW conversion, I have seen the pics of it and it looks amazing. Judging from their Strv conversion, it should be a great kit...
AEF Designs aren't my cup of tea, although they offer number of Israeli kits and conversions that look really appealing, I wasn't satisfied with their quality. Lots of warped parts, bad resin.. don't know much about their PE though (I think their Zelda armor is PE)..

As stated all academy M113s can be ocnverted into IDF ones. Since you're interested in a later model variant ( the late 80's/90s) the Academy zelda is perfect. for a 73-mid 80s check you're references as they would probably be A1s with the solid square air vents. To my knowledge the sheilds from any of the companies will foit all made M113s. I am in the process of buying all theavailable sets and will report when achieced.

As an IDF M113 fan I'll chime in to echo what others have said.
Academy Zelda= good ( even if it is missing the ramp pulley, but then again so is every other M113 out there)
AEF ideas = good
Old AEF execution = so-so to poor
The HKW set is immaculate! I have one downstairs in the stash waiting for a super detailed M113 interior to be ready for it. Love that 'chevron' style armor and retro looking commanders cupola!
i'll also add a plea for anyone who has interior pics of IDF M113's especially the perforated armor Zelda APC to contact me. I'm still looking for that one set of photos I know some modeler out there has of the interior of a 80's-90's APC

I would buy the Academy Zelda and then get some AEF updates. I got three of them and they are just great! The fit is pretty good. There is some trimming to do but they are well worth the price.
