Its starting to come together now , the base is about 1/2 way done . Just need to get the grass , water and side cover touched up . I tried to show a water line on the BMP , it dosent quite look right to me so I'm probaly going to be doing a bit of re-work on that after I get the water set right . As for the Hummer , just getting started on the crew and finishing up the interoir , still a big gap at the bottom of the whindshield - missed the cut point bad on that one .So I'll have to work up something to fix that . Thanks for looking , Toad .
A look at the way it sits in the dio

I like it. The scratchbuilt turret seems to have come out nicely, though I think the rear part looks a little too thick.
Couple of things:
Do the M1114's use the hood ventilation from the unarmored humvees as that is what it looks like?
Are you using any kind of water making product for the water or do you intend to leave it blue?
Keep us updated

Looks like it is going to be a cool dio. Are you going to add any locals?

Great beginning - I like the set-up.
One thing (you knew it had to be something) The water is way too blue. Look at pictures of the Tigress and its a greenish brown.
I would add layers of greens and brown over the blue before adding whatever clear gloss.

I got back to work on this one today . I did a bit of finish up on the Hummer and added the stop sticks . I did a dry run with the figures to get idea of where I'm going to put them and how to pose them . Figures arent my thing so this has been the hang up on this one . Thanks for looking , Toad .

The figure leaning on the humvee looks cool. I look forward to watching your progress.

Compositionally the figures are good, the poses are nice and to my knowledge accurate.
I'd like to see more dust on everything, even the plants.

Nice setup.
I'd try to dull the appearance of the chain on the bonnet, maybey with Blacken-it?
I agree, the sniper is a very nice figure.

I like the anti-vehicle barrier on the humvee and the M-21 use, and all the other small things. I also like the civilian interaction. As far as the dio, it looks great so far in composition, but I'm still trying to locate the story in it? Maybe if you dug a hole indicating a prior IED attack and the group is trying to interview locals for intel. Otherwise I still like where this is going and hope to see the final product.

I like it. The sniper figure is a nice touch, too. What's the story behind it?

Looking good. Curious what did you use for the water? I plan to eventualy finish my muddy M113 ACAV and plant it in some mud with water, I have a nice bottle of woodland scenics realisitic water sitting here, as well as some clear resin. I'm planning on using both. What Ia m really interested in, is how you are going to do the sand. I am working on two vehicles that I want to put in a dio in Iraq, but I need to figure out how to do the sand. One of them is going to have a full interior so I plan on soldiers, and a few dead insurgents. I have a source for those, but I need to figure out how to do the sand. Without grinding up about 30 pastel chalks. LOL.

Thanks guys , this scene is a mix of a few events wraped into one . The " sniper " we had 2 M-14s that we used from time to time . The guy closest to the BMP is checking out a water pump that hasn't been built yet . The 2 troopers with the locals , one is my Lt and the one with no head (yet) will be the interpeter we took out with us from time to time . I might add a 3rd dismount . There were a lot of farmers in our AO so they uses water pumps to irrigate the fields . When I get the water pump built it will become the focus point the locals are talking about . The back drop is a oil painting I did just to see how it would look , the frame is a bit too big I might fix it one day . The water is a mix of the woodland senics resin beads and the instant water in the bottle . Thanks for looking , Toad .

That makes so much more sense Keep it up. Are you scratching a water pump or do you have some resin parts in mind?

Who makes those civilian figures? I don't think I've seen them before and the poses are just what I was looking for.
Nice dio. Right up my alley.

The water pump is a scratch project in the pic below . The Iraqi civilians are the Verlindin Arab street curiosity set # 2049 . I'm reposing the left arm on the elder man . Thanks again, Toad .
