Hello all,
Almost done with the build, just a few more details, and I am waiting on some Tasca jerry cans so I can do the large rear rack found on the 4.Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 25, 7.Panzer-Division vehicles.
Comments, good bad and indifferent entertained! :-)

Looks very good, what did you put on the stowage bin to do the tarp?

Hi Frank,
It's going to be an air recognition flag. It is made from Magic Sculpt expoxy putty.

John, this is a sweet build. first I would like to commend you on such a good job with the neat clean assembly I am so used to seeing from you.
Secondly I have a few questions. Does the kits plastic barrel have rifling or am I remembering something else also are the spare road wheels tristars or does the DML kits now have separate tires and road wheels? I am always interested to see stuff like homemade flags as I haven't done this yet so i look forward to maybe seeing a possible sbs on doing this? And while we are at it, how do you bow the spare track on the front of the tank like that to stuff stowage in there? possible sbs there as well? I have the tristar kit and am wondering how the two compare?
Looking forward to seeing your paint work, are there any thoughts to a dio? If so what would the setting be? Cheers Kevin

Looks sweet, is that the old 3 in 1 or the newer Vorpanzer?

Very good John, You're build realy gives me the 'push' to get on and finish mine.. incredibly clean work as always, tell us, do you actualy use glue??
Interesting mix and match of the Dragon and Tristar wheels, and I like that damaged wheel on the front.
I also like the re-positioned jack, I take it that was specific to this vehicle because of the beam? Come to that, what was the beam for? Looks a bit neat just to be an un-ditching beam..
And the Engine deck doors, I'm still wondering as all my references show the Ausf.. E to have the louvred doors... I was under the impression that they were introduced late during the Ausf. D.
I'm building mine from an 'actual' vehicle aswel, 11. PD, 1941 in the Balkans.. I know, possibly one of the most build versions, but there you go.. :-)
Ohh, one more thing before I go... those padlocks, you photoshopped those in right,..right?? :-)
I tried, but after some severe struggle, followed by the inevitable 'tweezerlaunch' I had to go outside for a minute, and take a deep breath... and decided that the crew had probably lost theirs anyway..
Excellent sofar John, I'm looking forward to see you paint this one.
Cheers
Henk

Nice clean build John, can't wait to see it painted. The tarp & damaged road wheel on the front looks cool.

Appreciate the comments, here are some answers:
Kevin, Its the plastic barrel that has the rifling. Both the tristar and DML kits have seperate tires, unfortunatly the DML kit only comes with 3 spares, while the Tristar kit I have as a whole extra set. The bowed spare track is made up of spare links - lots of extras (thanks DML!) I used testors liquid cement to assemble them, let them sit 10 minutes then just bent it to fit - that easy.
Bob, its the original 3 in 1. A great kit. Just a little TLC and its hard to tell which one it is isn't it?
Henk, Glue smells bad I use scale bolts and a mini welder to assemble the kits! j/k :-) I use Tenex for most of my assembly, it is super thin and flows in to joints without makeing a mess. All the Tanks in this company had repositioned OVE. The bean is indeed for unditching - I have yet to chew it up a bit I will wait till its painted though. As to the engine doors on D's and E's, only tropical tanks got the vents. The locks - well they were fun. I actully drilled out the holes in the top with a 0.013" drill and used a piece of 0.0125" wire bent to shape. The kit PE part is flat and looked funny. By drilling the holes I could use longer wire, thus easier to handle!
Cheers guys!

Hi John. Just echoing what all, have already said. Lovely clean work. Very inspiring indeed. Love the tarps inside the front track stowage, and how the damaged wheels set into it. Looking forward to seeing paint on this. Nice one.

Excellent job sofar John, looks ready for paint to me. If you have missed something, so have I as it looks to me like a complete Pzr IV.. :-) .
Is that a barrel of anti-freeze (CMK) next to the Jerry cans?
Looking forward to see this painted John.
Cheers
Henk

About November, when it gets really cold....
Sorry John, had to do it.. To be honest I'm not sure. I would have presumed that they would have had some means of coldweather starting right from the start, but I'll have a dig around to see if I can find some concrete info..
Cheers
Henk
Edit - I see Vinnie beat me to the punch line, I should really learn to type with more than one finger..... :-) - Edit

ALMOST the same feeling here... Funny to build something with different curves and panelly things...
Coming along nicely Sticky! Forgive me if it has been mentioned, but what colour will it be?

I agree Bradley , the early Panzers do have a certain charm about them , much like the early allied armour
Im still very tempet to pick one of these early Panzers up , plus of course no worries about ambush paint schemes hehehehehe
