I have a book at home about Panzer marking, I will go check it out this weekend, and see what I can come up with.

I am not sure but I have a panzer and on the instructions the number 3 is next to the red bear symbol. If you have seen this symbol before. The directions are in japanese so I have no idea what they are saying. But the bear is placed in the front half of the turrent on both sides. The model I have is a PzKpWgn II ausf M. Good Luck I will keep on looking.

Here's a link to a picture of a decal with the divisional insignia: http://www.ares.cz/delta/picture/5002.GIF
I just found this doing a Google search, I have no idea if the decal is available or not.
Anyhow, 3rd Panzer division: top row of the decal, 4th symbol from the left, the "E" (though it should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise) - this was used from 1939 - 40. The next symbol to the right, the upside-down Y with two apostrophes next to it, was used from 1940 - 45. The "peace symbol", 8th symbol from the left, was also used in 1940 (though it is shown on the decal upside-down). The bears on the bottom row were also used.
6th division: top row, 9th symbol from the left, the upside-down Y with 2 dots after it was used in 1940, this upside-down Y could also be followed by two periods. From 1941 - 45, two X's side by side were used, as show on the top row, fourth symbol from the right. From Sept - Oct 1941 a hatchet symbol was used as in the second symbol from the right.
This comes from the book "Tony Greenland's Panzer Modelling Masterclass".
Hope this helps :-)

These divisional insignia for the 3. and 6. Heer Panzer divisions were
assigned in 1941 .
3.PANZER DIV.
6.PANZER DIV.
You can also find many W.W.II Wehrmacht & Waffen SS insignia and emblems
here at World war 2 Day by Day......but be careful because some emblems are not
properly referenced for their date of issue to the divisions/battalions.

Panzer Colours has them and nearly all vehicles within a German Div always had the Div Marking on it.
