This is my latest finished build - another Tamiya 1/35 Tiger I Late, but built without any AM stuff (aside from the crew and PE foliage). I built this alongside a build of the same kit at which I threw the kitchen sink in terms of PE and AM stuff, to see which was "better". And the answer? Both are better, for different reasons.

All the added PE does make a difference when the model's being examined by another enthusiast, but the average family member admiring your work probably won't see it unless you point it out. However, you know it's there and have had the challenge of dealing with the PE. The added detail also draws attention to the small things easily overlooked on the real thing. AM stuff is a lot more expensive, but it takes you a long time to build, so although the additional outlay is far higher, in terms of pence per hour of model building i reckon they are about equal.

I think I'll continue to build some kits OOB and some with added PE.

Anyway, this tank will, in time, be set in a small vignette - I just need to find a signpost for "Falaise".

Sorry the pics are so dark: it's siling down with rain here so the light isn't brilliant. When the weather brightens I'll take some definitive pics for MoM. The pics in the post are quite small (I obviously haven't quite got the hang of the new gallery ) so if you want to see bigger pics, look in the album in my gallery: http://photos.kitmaker.net/showgallery.php?cat=16319
