Okay, okay,

Not necessarily the best of titles, but it is catchy ain't it?? :-) Gotcha here didn't it?

Here is my semi-official proposal for an exclusive DSB Campaign (the rules of course can be ammended before, and if, this becomes an official submission of a campaign):

Rule Set

1) the model must be military in nature.

2) it must have two or more wheels and/or tracks (or one wheel and two tracks, or two wheels and one track?), and/or wings and/or a keel (basically, any military vehicle from the Land, Air, or Sea forces).

3) MUST be painted PINK, or in a predominantly PINK scheme.

4) should have catchy slogan painted on the side (in ANY language as long as it's translated upon submission and, sorry, shouldn't be, you know, offensive?). The slogan is recommended for "unit cohesiveness," but not required.

(How does one translate "Lay the smack down on 'dem puppies" or "Beware you Fluvian (sp?) curs!" into Russian???? [ I ask this as my submission would be a T72M2])

5) any scale, any era, and because we are a no-boundry, international gathering, a vehicle of any nationality.

6) submitions can only be made by "registered" members of the DSB.

Current "registration" is now stickied. Of course, this could easily change with new members

7) the model MUST include the member's PIG number on it....be it hull number, tail number, license plate number, or other such number, as long as it is the member's number.

Suggested start date would be June 1, 2006 with an end date of December 1, 2006. I would think this could be ammeded +/- a month or so if the general consensus so wished.

Campaign Title:

Mere suggestions from me would be;

1) Pretty in Pink
2) Crush those Puppies!!! or something similar in "design."
3) Mojo's Motor Pool just got BIGGER!
4) Supercalafradgulisticexpealidocious
5) Piggy Power!! (++)
6) Innagaddadavida BABY!

Anyhow, this is the concept. Please post your interest in this (future) campaign, potential Campaign Name(s), potential ammendments to the rules (I left out the "traditional" "have fun," "award of a ribbon/medal upon successful completion," et cetera), and general thoughts.

Many thanks, and I do believe, we as a group, will have MUCH FUN!

EDIT - - The Proposal has gone Official! Check it out here: "Big and Piggy" Group Build, official thread! .

Sincerely,

Mike (++) (++)

That's a valid proposal for a forum name. Mine were merely suggestions (a combination of serious and silly). I too like "Big 'n' Porky." I'm not sure it would "fly" with the campaign moderator because of the current "Big 'n' Beefy" campaign, but I may be wrong.

Something else to consider as the "juices flow," is this forum is open to just about ANY military vehicle, is that it'd be hard to consider a BMW or Harley motor cycle as "big," but on the other hand, a Harley certainly could be considerd "porky." An A10 Thunderbolt would be considered "porky" (they've been called hogs many a time), but certainly not "big" as far as planes go.

Hope you see the potentially different sides to a campaign name.

Oh, it was suggested that this "proposal" be submitted both here in the DSB and on the Campaign's forum......better visibility (a bunch of us Oinkers don't always show up here).

Okeeezz,

Title suggestions:

Big and Porky
Big and Piggy
Fluvian Smash (????)

Any more?? Come on ya'll. Appears to be, at this time, no issues with proposed dates or rules.

I'm going to post the initial post in the Campaign Forum, with a few moderate changes, and attempt to direct responses to this post.

I figure if I get at least 15 or so POSITIVE (and committed??) responses, I'll submit it through the Campaign request form on the weekend of April 8th.

Cheers and beers and puppy dog tails!

I like it TFG. Makes me wish I had picked up that old Revell Lionfish to be the pink sub at the auction the other night. Might have to get with Scott to see what he'd want with it. I could go for this one.

Rodger,

You have no idea how lucky I was t get that Lionfish! Turns out, with some AM (according to Bob and follow on research), I can make a pretty good representation of my Father's sub during WWII, the Hawkbill-SS366!!! If it didn't work out, I'd have considered what you are: not the Yellow submarine, but the Pink one!! :-) :-) :-)

Yep, joining Legacy and Centennial! You guys and gals, combined, really do rock! Hey BTW, how do you like my Shermie? hehehehehhe

A quick note: This one is going to have to stay right here in the DSB forums as, I believe, a group build. Checking to see what the requisite rules and regs for a GB may be, if any.

TFG
No need to check dude--you've laid out everything properly for a group build. Maybe finalize your group build name, --- and you've already set the start/end dates and specified the parameters of the build. Go for it. (++)

Herr General, Sir!, how mean you??? A kit decal that has your number (and others), or..? Or do you mean an "actual" unit emblem? (now, that would be FRIGGIN' KOOL!!) Please explain to a humble oinker....

I am about to contact a true-to-life ArmoramA friend about creating waterslide decals that will incorporate the following:

Der Sonntag Bund Club (in "Old English" font?). I personally think that would ROCK on our submissions!!

The numbers 1 (all hail the UBER oinker!!) through 170 (perhaps we shall have new members?).
