I was trolling this site today and noticed some really nice paint jobs on some tanks. I was thinking it would be awesome to get some tank painting clases similar to the figure painting classes which have taken place. Id love to learn how to paint better AFV's. Perhaps a few of the more experienced modellers could host some paint classes. Just a thought.

Hmmm....sounds like a good idea. Although I must admit to not knowing excatly what's involved. I suppose I'd better go and have a look at the figure ones? Anybody else want to get involved, and we'll organise something?

I would certainly take them. I primarily build aircraft, but some of the armor stuff makes my very hesitant to even try armor. Sign me up.

I'm in as well. I would love to learn something more about nice paint schemes too. I usually paint solid color schemes to avoid some of the camo jobs.

I would certainly be interested in something like this. From reading a lot of posts here, I see many people paint using brushes.. and the others ofcourse use air-brushes. Why not have a class for each method. How to obtain the best results in each method. And how to paint camouflage schemes if you don't have a compressor which allows you to control air-pressure.

Hope you decide to do something like that.

I'd be interested as well... With say three different viewpoints on how to paint using different mediums... Perhaps it could be broken down even farther, say a first class on basic painting and shading. Another on camo, soft and hard edge etc.. And another on weathering.. Just a few thoughts....

Great Ideas guys. I would love to see some hard edge camo, soft edge camo and maybe a nice Russian green. Weathering and chipping effects would be cool too.

Perhaps the "Teachers" could provide a list of items needed so the "children" following along can pickup said items ot similar ones.

Man, I love this site

Hi Vinne and all,

I am very interested in this idea....

Some suggestion in the class....for a novice like me...
I am only done AFV in green and desert scheme so far...and still learning....

Snow wash and especially camo painting is really frightening to me.....and I have very little idea about their weathering technique....is it simiar to a mono-tone AFV ?

So for the class, if we can get a master to do it , I suggest :

1) Mono tone first
- Snow wash +
- Basic weathering technique

2) 3 tone camo
- German AFV camo seems intresting..., anyone ?

Thanks for the idea.....
