Sure thing the C is right in the time frame when vehicles were delivered in plain dark yellow and the crews were usually responsible for adding the camo colors ..so it all depended on them or the maintenance section of the division .

I did one with a striped brown & green camo. Hard Edge. I dared not to post it here since i wasnt sure about it and I'd be catching a lot of "that's wrong!" comments. :-)

Hi,
About the difference between hard edged and other cammo, was it all dependent on whether the cammo was applied at the factory?
if so, how can one find out if it was?
Charles

It would be a very foolish armour buff who claimed "the Germans never did that". So I would say if you want hard edge go ahead & do it.
The three colour paints were issued in cans in which the paint was a thick paste, intended to be thinned with petrol & sprayed. But with shortages of fuel, this was almost never done in the field. Some elite units insisted on "textbook" application, but the majority of units on the Eastern front in constant combat would use the methods most readily to hand. These included thinning with water or not at all, application with rags or yardbrooms, or even just pouring paint on in extremes.
Applied straight from the can full strength, the colours would be very dark green, almost black, & a dark chocolate brown. This would be too thick for any spray gun, so would be brush applied - so there's your hard edged camo. Beg, borrow or steal a copy of "Panzer Colours" by Bruce Culver.

I think that any camo scheme on any vehicle would technically be do able. Because: you never know
