When I left modeling a few years ago, I had an Aztec 320 that I used to paint a couple of models using canned propellant. I had owned a Paasche VL a number of years before, and found the Aztec to be rather unsatisfactory in comparison. So when I had to give up modeling for awhile, I let my oldest son use it for a Junior Air Force ROTC project and, predictably enough, he didn't clean it very well.
Anyway, having returned to modeling, I now have a new Iwata HP-C Plus and a compressor on the way, though from what I've been reading, the Aztec might still be useful for tasks such as spraying Future Floor Wax. Is there any way to recondition it, and if so, what should I use? Thinner? Lacquer thinner? Oven cleaner? The trigger still moves, but the nozzle that's still in it is completely gummed up, though I have a couple of others with which to replace it if I can get the one unstuck. He used enamels in it, and they have had four or five years to set. I have no idea if air will pass through it but will find out when my compressor arrives next week. What do you think? Is it a lost cause?

Thanks John. That really wouldn't have occurred to me. I'll give it a shot.

I was sceptical when my 470 failed after about 6 or 7 years. I contacted the UK Agents Ripmax Ltd and my airbrush was replaced in about 5 days.

Well, I've sent them an email, so here's hoping.
