using shrink dope help needed

i have just applied clear shrinking dope to my turret numbers which are applied to a zimmerit surface.I noticed it has eaten some of the transfer and also the brush,am i putting it on to thick or is there something else i should be doing

When you say "shrinking dope", are you refering to the stuff used to seal and tighten the tissue on flying models or decal softening solutions i.e Micro Sol / Micro Set or Decal Fix? If the former, then its the WRONG! stuff. It's not surprising that it ate the decal, as it is cellulose based. Its a wonder it did not take off the paint and eat into the plastic!

The bottle says"clear shrinking dope"so i assume i was mis-sold this product as i had asked for something to use on decals
