Hi

I'm planning on making a 2 man troop carrier/cargo version of a Humvee from Desert Storm 1991 based on a picture on pages 120/121 of Victory In ther Gulf from Windrow and Green.

The vehicle has a an M60 mounted in the cargo bed directly behind the cab.

Any ideas as to how that would have been mounted - a pole bolted directly to the floor? It's obvipusly a field modification.

I'm using the Tamiya kit with the Calibre 35 conversion kit.

Any help would be appreciated

cheers

Rob

I cant remember the source, but I built the same model about 2 years ago, and was looking for the same thing. Someone on here told me the mount for the M60 was taken from an old Ford Mutt. I had an old m151 pole in the scrap box and used it, and when compared to pictures, it looked about right. So, thats my best suggestion. Hope that helps

The MUTT pole would work. You could also make your own using a piece of tubing, a square of styrene for the base, with triangular braces coming up the pole. Bolt it down and you are set. You would still need an M60 pintle mount from the MUTT or another model that has one.

These two pictures kind of show what Gino is saying, despite this mount being for a Mk-19. Hope this helps.
