I wrote a simple step-by-step on making Dragon's Teeth. Those who are interested in taking a look can find it here.

Damn that is great Marty, I stored it in my archive.

They sure do look convincing, I just have one question, I can never find how big these things are, do you have some dimensions??

Very well done. Quick to the point. Good job.
Add dimentions and it's all there.

Yes, dimensions would be nice wouldn’t they? I have done some research on the dragon's teeth and unfortunately I have not been able to get any consistent dimensions. They are all different shapes and sizes. During my construction I figured that a dragon's tooth height should be somewhere between the knee and waist of a 6 foot person. Like I said these are just speculations. I wish I had an opportunity to measure a real thing but they are hard to find in the US #:-) Perhaps some of our European members can shade some light on this matter. For what it's worth I will add my dimensions once I get home tonight.

Hi Guys
Check the old threads, we had one on dragon's teeth that had links to a ton of really good sites showing all the strange variations of the size and shape of the DT. Excellent idea Marty, you have saved me from making more messes with plaster and silicone. I already have the popsicle sticks and can't wait to try out your method.

Hi Marty - Nice work ! ......The following may help as far as height goes. - I'm reading the Battle for Aachen from the "After The Battle " series. When Task Force Lovelady of Combat Command B, U.S. 3rd Armored Div rolled through the Dragon's Teeth the soldier's & engineers described them as:
" Five row's of concrete pyramids increasing in height from 2 & 1/2 feet in the front rows, to nearly 5 feet at the back row.
ALSO NOTICE ON THE DT IN THE FRONT ROW THAT THE FORWARD SIDE IS AT A GREATER ANGLE THEN THE OTHER THREE SIDES.

I did not have a chance to update my article last night so for now I am going to post my dimensions here. They are as follows:
- all triangle walls are equal and 1 and 1/4 inch long (3cm)
- the rectangle piece is 1 and 1/4 x 1/4
- top-to-bottom hight is 1 and 1/8
I Hope this helps.

Nice and clear article. I think I'm gonna use this method for building a bunker. Those plank marks really look good on a bunker too.

Nice one Marty !! Thanks for sharing it.

I especially like the "in situ" construction that shows the actual mold lines of the forms, poured where they were to stand. Nice touch!

Hi,

Penkala, first of all welcome to ArmoramA.

Yes, you can use that method to build bunkers. I'm using it to build bunkers of the Atlantic Wall. The only problem is if you want to be accurate it's to get plans with dimensions to use as base.

Hi,

I've made several tries to check if the method works - I'ven't photos of those - and now I'm rebuilding the plans for making the final molds.

As soon as I've the molds ready, I will post some pics.

For some more "concrete" texture, you can stir some fine sand in the plaster mix.

To show 'broken" dragon teeth, place some bent metal wire strands in the mixture. When drie, break away the top of the plaster dragon tooth with pliers, and the bent metal will stick out. Paint them rusty.

I am glad you guys think this is a good technique. Once in a while I come up with a good idea. It is too bad that doesn't happen too often though #:-)
