Just picked up the tamiya tiger and opened the box. Seems pretty decent to me. Is all of the tamiya kits going to have the metal hulls in them? Just a rookie in this scale so bear with me.

It would seem that way for the foreseeable future, at least for the tanks. They may have a change of heart like Dragon did with their 1/72 armour, but while they continue with the pre-finished items, I rather doubt it.

This is exactly how my adventure with this scale started . Welcome! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

IIRC So far, only cars (I'm using the term loosely) like kubelwagen, schwimmwagen, kettenkraftrad and Citroen don't have metal hulls. All other models in this series do.

Hi all!

The Universal Carrier ("Bren Carrier") does not have a Metal Hull neither.

Yep, forgot to include it in my list. Sorry about that.

Nothing available in plastic as yet, unless you count the old and sometimes hard to find Bandai examples. The French company Gaso-line do several German types (mostly armoured) in resin/white metal. Check the links section on the Track48 site for Quarter Kit.

I would also recommend the Skybow Tiger I's, both early and late versions. Excellent detail and they go together with no problems. They're kind of hard to come by but if you do see them, snap them up. You won't be sorry.
