The shape and color texture are very well done. This will make a great addition to a diorama.
The image comes across a bit glossy - which could just be the photos. If not I'd tone it down with a coat of dullcoat.

Hey Matt:

Your table looks really good. Love the little scale watch
on the table. Nice touch, good thinking. Did you make
it from balsa wood or from bass wood, etc. I notice
most of the threadmakers who post here use balsa
wood. I can't stand that stuff, it is so flimsy. But then I
got to stinkin' , maybe they don't sell bass wood in
Europe in hobby shops; next to the balsa wood
and the brass tubing, etc. So fill us in Matt. Inquiring
minds want to know. News at eleven? :-) :-) :-)

Well actually cant take the credit for makeing it. Its a resin table from a Jaguar bunker vignette. The "stain" was an old bottle of Tamiya Red Brown that i Applied liberally and then used a Dremel polishing tip to create the look (after the paint was dry). The watch and glasses are photoetched pieces, and the uniform and MG42 Ammo box are from the kit.

@ Rick,

You suppose correctly that basswood is not sold here in hobby shops. At least not in my regon and not that i am aware of.
So we have to stick with Balsa or making plastic look like wood .

Cheers
Claude

Really? Is it really resin? Well it fooled me! I thought it was balsa wood painted and varnished! Great work Matt!
Cheers and happy modelling!

I'd move the watch away from the edge, it looks like it's going to fall off the table and watches back then were not known for resiliency. In fact, looking a second time, it's already defying gravity. Other than that, it looks pretty neat.

We all know time flies when modelling...
*ahem* sorry...
But yes the table is great looking... Is there detail underneath? Would be good to get its dimensions to recreate another in balsa or similar...

perhaps it was meant to be on the edge of the table as it is about to fall...maybe a few officers are having a drink around the table, someone has knocked the watch off the table and another guy is about to catch it before it falls...

it looks great, i love it

well actually there is now a spilled cup of clear liquid on the table that is why i then decided to move the watch, the scene that im puting it in has a rushed felling to it. Again thanks for all your input guys. Ill post the new pictures tomarrow.
