I have a new pasche airbrush(VL series) I purchased off the shelf at a local store...The air brush seems to stop working almost immediatly after I start painting...I use acrylic paints( and I do thin the paints some)...If I take the brush apart and clean it, the problem is fixed..Until I start painting again..I am wondering if anyone has experienced this before ?? and what can I do to fix my problem??

The first thing I would consider is the thinning ratio. When you say you thin the paints "some," how much do you mean? Different acrylic paints require different thinning ratios. If you are using Tamiya, you may want to experiment with ratios approaching 50-50. Try such a mix, and see if this stops the problem.

I have used low and High pressure....I have even used "water Only" with no paint....You know in the instructions where they say to clean the brush, you put your finger over the nozel to create back pressure??..well , that is what this air brush does...just shoots paint out of the gravity cup, instead of the nozzel. I clean it, and then it starts all over again in 5 seconds....Do you have any recommendations??...I am using a 2 HP(4gallon) air compressor, with a in line regulator..I usually use between 15-40 PSI to get the paint to even come out of the other airbrush I use...I could really use some tips, ideas, or suggestions because I have a $75 airbrush that I cant use... Thanks!!!!

By your description the first thing to do is be sure that the the nozzel assembly is seated and tight ("A" assembly" in the instructions) If it is not tight air goes back to the color cup rather than through the nozzel.

I have the same airbrush. I had this trouble in the beginning... Did you change out tips by chance? I changed my tip from a #6 to a #5 and forgot to change the pin inside the airbrush. Maybe your pin is too big for the nozzle you are using. That was my problem. The airbrush didnt really come with detailed instructions.

Chris, I will try that and see if that is the problem..I don't know much about airbrushes, I just went to the store and picked out one that appeared to be good quality..I was upset to discover that this brush came with little, to no, instructions..I will try the tip changing and hopefully that is the issue...Thanks.

I've got the same brush and never had a problem. I imagine there is some problem with the needle and nozzle not matching.
