I like to have a less ambitious build going on alongside more complicated ones, and this is my most recent one. Italeri's old, old PzKpfw38(t) built OOB (except for the drive wheels which were missing from the box (part of a job lot I bought cheap on ebay) and replaced with fruils (just the wheels, not the tracks).
I wanted the opportunity to practice some weathering techniques and rusting with pigments, particularly with regard to the tracks, which are the original rubber band ones from the kit.
Well, it's not MoM material but it was an enjoyable, quick build. Also an illustration of how much kits' quality has improved over the past few years!!!!
There are more pics, which will be bigger (why are pics now so small in my posts?) in my Gallery

Looks good, and a good idea to pick up a few of these older cheaper kit just to practice on.
Keep up the good work.

That looks nice. You even made the rubber bands look good
Some of the older kits that are real cheap are a lot of fun to put together. Especially as you say if you have a more ambitious project under way.
Cheers

That looks fantastic, slightly dirty but not too much. Just the way I like them. Very nice little model there.

Looksgood. I get a lot of enjoyment out of building kits that I end up with from eBay lots or swap meets for next to nothing. When you get them so cheaply, there's no pressure to go all out on it.
A good OOB is relaxing.
