Have there been any tracked vehicles used in Afghanistan after the 2001 invasion used by the coalition forces? I am not talking about the tanks and BMPs of the Afghan forces. Thanks in advance.

Don't know about any other nations, but US has not sent any tracks there. Heaviest we have sent have been LAVs.

Yup there are tracked vehicles. Norway got CV 9030s and M-113s, Germany use different kind of Wiesels (Tow and 20mm) Belgium use a YPR look a like.

Dutch forces:
Tracked:
YPR -765 infantry vehicle.
And if you want something special (and big) :
PZH2000
To be sent as part of the Dutch mission to Uruzgan.
There are kits out for both these vehicles.
Non tracked armored vehicles would include the Patria XA-188 GVV, both IFV and wounded transport. And the "Fennek," the newest reconnaisance vehicle.

Very interesting about the PZH2000 deploying to Afghanistan in August.
Are the currently deployed AIFVs in the three colour NATO camouflage or a desert tan camouflage?
Images of the SISU are in NATO cam.
It would be very nice to see a deployed PZH2000 painted in desert tan.

What I forgot to mention...
as far as colors go, I have no idea what colors will be used.
Looking at the few images I have found of Dutch troops, some were wearing desert camouflage some were wearing their green gear.
And probably (most likely) some of the other Dutch people on here will have a better knowledge.

Thanks for getting back to me Harm.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for a desert tan PZH2000.

I believe some are also crossing their fingers for a desert tan Leopard II A5/A6. If that happens, maybe Echelon might go for a reprint of their Dutch decal set! It seems that that is about the only thing left to send...
Depending on how the situation in Afhanistan develops, I would not completely disregard that possibility. The trauma of Srebrenica, and the subsequent fallout (both concerning the massacre and the political consequences of the fall and the massacre in the Netherlands) still seem to loom large.
Do you know by the way where the Canadians in Afghanistan are located?

Not sure if this ever got updated. Canadians were in Kandahar Province and used Leopards and LAV 25s.

Jeff,
I was in Kandahar in 2007, 2008 and 2011, Mostly saw LAV's but did see Canadian Leopards there - one of which had Barracuda camouflage netting over it. The Dutch had PZH2000's there in 2007, but were still in NATO 3 colour camouflage and not 'desert' camouflaged.
Hope this helps,
Phil

If you mention the norwegian CV 90, don't forget about the old "Iron Pig" SPz Marder, used by the Bundeswehr in Afghanistan.
