Hey boys,
Almost finished with my Russian winter dio, and i'm looking to add icicles that hang from my trees and gutters (1/35) Any suggestions?

Unfortunately Roadkills plaza is closed but he had a nice article on this.
I have not yet used it but it goes something like this:
Take a horizontal strip of plastic or wood. Then take a small blob of white (wood) glue and suspend it from the plastic strip stretching it into the icicle form ==>
After it has set you can coat it with clear glue used for styrene and this will give a glazed look to it. If you hang the icicle from the edge of the strip like in the picture, the icicle will have a preformed edge in it so you can hang it from a roof or fender after you cut it loose from the strip.
I hope this makes sence.

That is the method I used a long time ago. Unfortunately there's not a lot of clear sprue in armor models. If you're a car guy as well you're in luck. One of the European HO manufacturers (Kibri, Pola?) make icicles that are certainly the right size for 1/35, and you get more than enough for several projects. Check out Walther's Catalog.

Hi Ziggy:
Since you hail from our Lone Star State, I feel certain
that you can buy or get off the internet a product from
Woodland Scenics (I'd suggest you check out their
web site, too for specific instructions) called Water
Effects. Water Effects is the brand name. It is a white
acrylic gel, very thick like toothpaste, that dries clear.
And I do mean clear. I would suggest you stretch clear
sprue and then coat the sprue with the Water Effects.
The Grim Reaper did a warship article on "Tin Fish
for Tojo" and he used this method to make the impact
splash from an enemy shell that made a geyser just
in front of the speeding Elco boat. So that is MY
suggestion. And good luck.
