Hello everyone....
I'm currently workin on a Long Range Desert Group truck for the move it again campaign and one of my next projects will be a LRDG Jeep to go with it.
My question is on the Unit Markings. The decal sheet for the truck have unit markings of T 9 and R 2... white on black I think but am not sure the Letters "T" and "R" stand for the patrol group and the numbers stand for the vehicle? would vehicles grouped together in the same patrol be marked R2, R3, R4, ect.?
Also on vehicles in the same group would bumper codes be sequentaly numbered or would they be a grab bag of various numbers...
thanks..

Hi,
I just did a google search on LRDG Trucks and it brought up a lot of stuff.
I'll get back to you if I find anything that might help.
Cheers
Al
Here's a link re vehicle names/equipment and patrol structure which should help.
http://www.lrdg.de/vehicles2.htm
I've e-mailed the LRDG Preservation Society to see if they have a source that might help.
Bye for now

thanks for the link.. thats on par with some of the other information I've found about unit markings.. makes me pretty sure the letter in the white on black unit code is the patrol name and the number is the vehicle number.
Just trying to get some conformation.
and that bit about the names will be very useful.. thanks..
