I thought of making a diorama of an Elefant crossing a bridge and falling through a hole it makes because of its weight.

Are there any existing dioramas involving tanks breaking bridges, that I can use as a reference?

I don't have any bookmarked or memorized but there are a bunch, PzrIV's, Tigers, etc. They're out there.

Thanks to everyone!

Were there any notable incidents in which an Elefant or Ferdinand broke a bridge? I was thinking of basing the diorama on something historical.

That was the one I was instantly thinking of!.
You beat me to it by 3.5 hrs.

If I remember correctly there are a couple of other shots out there of the same accident recovery and a couple of a Panther A in a similar situation.

I remember a dio from Euromilitaire 2004 and have this photo.

But you have to search further for Euromilitaire 2004 in Google.

The dio with the Panther A puts me in mind of the original, 'The Italian Job', it just needs a Michael Caine Figure saying...... 'Hang on lads, I've got another idea'.

very very interesting topic. An exquisite idea for a dio. I know as a tank company commander in the King Tiger one I would have hollered at the TC asking "what the hell were you thinking"

In Munch's History of the 653rd there ar a number of pictures on a Ferdinand that either broke thru a bridge or slipped off. I'll see about scanning the pictures. Make sure the underside is very detailed.

They did recover the Ferdinand, but the commander was killed in the accident.

Yes, I'm very interested in the Ferdinand photo, because I'm planning to do a diorama of an Elefant.
