Hi all,

I have this book about the Sch. Panzerjäger Abt. 653 where it is stated that between April and october 1944 they equipped a bergepanther with a flakvierling. This could make a cool looking cat, but I was wondering if anyone has ever seen pictures of this beast or has further reference to this subject??

Best regards
Morten

Some lengthy discussions on other DGs have also failed to find any real pics (though there is a made-up one in the thread in the link below).

I do know that the 653rd had the Bergepanther with the panzer IV turret bolted on and they did have captured T34's with the flak guns added but I have never heard of a panther with the flak gun .

Hi Rick,

I know it sounds funny but it's none the less what they guys from 653 write in their inventory list for operating vehicles in June 1944. It would look kinda cool, would it not?!

Hi Jim,

I also have the Munch book - the new cheaper edition - and there are no pictures of the Bergepanther with the flakvierling - only the T-34 conversions. (I have that kit from Maquette, which got me started in the history of the 653).

Thank you all for your feed back

You're right! I have gone thru my old hardbound and all I can find a picture of is the T-34. Only drawings of the two Bergepanthers, on without a protective turret and one with.

The conversion kit I have is for the T-34 version.
