Hi,
Since this week I've got my lampposts of Verlinden for my first diorama.
Now, I want to improve the 'glasses' in those lampposts. Maybe replace them by real glass. Some one who know how I can start at that? Drilling the resin? But I'm affraid that the small sticks to hold the glass would become damaged...

Anyone who can pop up with an idea?

cheers!

Gday Wes
Think we need to see a pic of this lamp post to know exactly what options can be presented to you...
Cheers

Hi Wezz. I dont have a picture of the lamp post in question or even know what it looks like, but at a guess its a solid piece where you paint in the glass colour?
I would think sawing out the whole glass area, cleaning up the top and bottom detail areas of the lampost and add new corner posts and glass would be the easiest.
Some small plastic formed angles may be suitable.
Maybe showing an image of your lampost would spawn better ideas!

Hi guys,

I needed to wait for some batteries... My mom went to the store...
But here they are!!!
As you can see, it's massive resin... And I think I go with PlasticBattle... Cutting it off and rework it with plastic strips...

I only hope I won't mess this one up

Measure it before cutting, so itīll be easier to get lengths and fit to the top piece. If it were mines, Id cut it as well.
Some small "L" angle plast forms would work easiest as the glass can be fitted afterwards. If this is not possible, just stretch some sprue and use round forms and have it as a damaged lamp post! Good luck with it

Another Idea. You could duplicate the part in an RTV mold, then cast them in clear resin, then just paint the metal parts!

John, thx for the tip, but I want to work with real glass.
The lamppost will come in front of a damaged house, so the glass won't be in one piece anymore

Frank: I was thinking about some streched sprue also. So I guess I would start cutting in an hour or something like that My brain need some food first And fast!!
