Well my modelling slump is officially at an end,
I went to my LHS and decided to try something a lil different ( ie something that isnt OD )
Soooooooooo I bought DML's PanzerIV "Vorpanzer" , what can i say but WOW , I spent hours just looking through the box and reading the intructions over and over drooling like a mad man heheheheh I think the better half has finally decided I have lost it

But boy oh boy what a kit and so many "goodies" , I just hope my skills are upto doing this beauty justice.

Nurse pass me my glue

I agree Andy it was Sticky's , Tigeriv's and Teacher's Panzers that inspired me to give one of these kits ago

Enlighten me o tank guru's. I take it that the "Vorpanzer" is a variation of the Panzer IV E. PLease explain what the differences are as to why I should want to add this kit to my collection. I am currently working on the Panzer IV D by Tristar and have the "E" by Dragon. I've done an H and really don't have a stong desire to do the 101 variations of a Panzer IV

Gents, I have both the Dragon Pz Kpfw IV Ausf E 3 in 1 kit (DML-6264) and their Pz Kpfw IV Ausf E "Vorpanzer" kits. Both are excellent kits and come highly recommended.

The Vorpanzer version comes with alot of extra "correction" parts that fix errors made on the original Dragoon Pz Kpfw IV Ausf E kit. The "Vorpanzer" add-on armor was included in the kit to make a specific version of the Pz Kpfw IV Ausf E.

Now we have the Dragon Pz Kpfw IV Ausf D 3 in 1 kit out (DML-6265), and I have thes en route to my shop. I cant wait to peal the seal on this kit !

Then, to top it off. I just received word that my 2 Cyber-Hobby/Dragon Pz Kpfw IV Ausf B (CHC-6297) kits have been shipped by Fed Ex ! Maybe I will have these by weeks end too !

Looking ahead, the Dragon Pz Kpfw IV Ausf C (DML-6291) is due out. I have these on pre-order, and will be looking forward to getting this kit as well

Hmmm.....not to beat a dead horse, but then you have to consider the Tristar Pz Kpfw IV kits, as they are excellent kits in their own right.

First you have the Pz Kpfw IV Ausf D (TRI-35015). I dont have one of these myself, but I have seen it , and would say its a great kit.

I do have the limited edition Pz Kpfw IV Ausf C kit (TRI-35018) and it looks very promising. I have kept my Ausf C kit sealed for now, just in case I dont want to work on it for a while, and keep its "limited edition" value.

Tristar has also annouced its own kit of the Pz Kpfw IV Ausf B (TRI-35019), so that will be interesting to see how that kit is, and compares to the Cyber-Hobby/Dragon kit.

I'm a big Pz Kpfw IV fan, and really like the appearences of the early production vehicles with the 7.5cm L/24 gun, etc, and cant wait to work on any of these new Pz Kpfw IV kits.

I will also agree with the others that both John's (Sticky), and Vinnie's(Teacher) have done fantastic work on their Dragon Pz Kpfw IV kits (Ausf E's) and will serve as inspiration for me too

Cheers !!

I'm presently workig on the Tristar D and have had a few difficulties....mainly in the idler wheel assembly department. I checked out the DML kit's lower hull pieces and assembly and was rather surprized on how similar the pieces were and assembly. The one thing I found a bit diferent was the idler wheel (thank God) Well, If I can't get the Tristar idlers right, I can always take one of the pair from the DML kit (heh-heh) Thanks for the clariication on the vorpanzer update.

I can sympathise Steve , I have just assembled the 8 suspension units for my DML Panzer , took a little head scratching to figure out the assembly order (gotta love the nice clear instruction sheets )
But once the first one went together it became monotonous rather than difficult :-)
