Anyone ever see a model of the American t-30 tank, or have any general info about this cool looking beast?

Thanks Eagle... here is what I have found at the ARMY MUSEUM website (along with a far better photo!). Looks like this huge monster would have been a good match for the Tiger, eh?

This experimental heavy tank was developed in 1947 and sported a 155mm gun. Its weight made it impractical for operations in Europe, and the project was canceled."

Good stuff Eagle.... I read the brief article, and see that it was a predecessor of the M46 program. Would love to find a model of this puppy, just for the fun of building it, and comparing the design to later US and then current German technology. That 155 shell would have been a rude awakening!

Looks like the one at the Patton museum. I think I remember someone making a resin kit of it, but quite expensive. Believe it was featured in an issue of Military Modeler a few years ago. Nothing available in plastic though.

There is some information in British and American tanks of WWII, byPeter Chamberlain and Chris Ellis out of Arco Publishing Company. Not much but some developmnet history on the T-30 and it's sister Tank the T-29.
