Not sure if anyone has come up with this yet so here goes:

Take all the tracks and make two equal lengths without glue, every so often take a thin strip of masking tape and press down between the horns. When fitting the tracks bend into shape, and glue (I used poly as it takes longer to set). When happy with the fit, peel off the tape. Voila

Sounds like an excellent idea. The biggest question I have is the tape is on the inside of the tracks, after you mount tracks onto tank how do you get tape off? Or do you fit it, take tracs off , peel tape, glue and then remount track?

The tracks have to be fitted in about 4 sections per side - top bottom and around the idler/sprocket. Those around the idler/sprocket have to be glued in place, the longer sections on top and bottom have areas of curve/sag which this method helps with. The glue was painted in a line along the insde of the inside horn where it is not visible on the finished item. I glued mine with poly, waited till it was half set, double checked the curve for fit, then removed the tape. You can then spray the sections before final gluing to the wheels. (I sprayed the idler/socket sections before gluing them to the in place).

Was wondering how to build tracks like this. Most of my kits so far have been one piece rubber tracks.

Will try this method out! Thanks!

Brian,
What a simple but oh so great solution to prefitting these tracks.
Brilliant!
Every time I think about trying a set of these link together tracks I develope a tick! :-) :-) :-) :-)
But this looks like great way to start.
Thanks for sharing this.
Gary
