Another layer of ground work down, small bridge in place, hedge taking shape.
If you look at the pic above you can see the start of the grass mound at the edge of the embankment.
I am considering putting a post and wire fence along here, what to you guys think??
Comments welcome.

Close up of start of hedge.

Why not a stone wall instead? I think it would look more Normandish (?) Your base looks good I like the culvert and the water, will you add stones to the stream?

Thanks chris, I'm pleased you realised it was a culvert and not a great big bridge.
I was thinking of putting a stone wall on the other side of the track.
What do you think??

As for the river bed, I've managed to make it look as though it were all dried up and cracked.
Not sure if the pic does it justice though.

There are tiny cracks in the river bed, I'm hoping that the paiting and weathering will bring them out more.
Can't really see them in photo.

thanks
Shultz

That would give your diorama a little more height as well! I 'd say go for it! Keep in mind that if this is D-DAY the weather was wet- so I don't know how fast it would dry up - maybe just a trickle?

You have inspired me to get back on some dio work -
Tanks for the inspiration!

What will go on top? Sherman V, Firefly, Cromwell, Univ. Carrier? Keep us posted.

Normandy....hmmm....feel a Mt Pincon dio coming on.lol...Nice set up. I like it. Maybe you could stick something in the river like a bren gun carrier to fill that space. It just looks a bit empty in that corner
