I want to build the KV-1 used Sr. Lt. Zinoviy Kolobanov when he knocked out 22 German tanks and coutless other vehicles on August 18/1941. So far all I have is the tank number 864 and I have read that he was part of the 1st tank division. Most pages on the internet are in Russian . Which version of the KV - 1 would be the correct one?

Thanks in advance

I'm no expert but maybe this picture can help you.... providing you can identify the variant shown. According to the caption, this KV-1 belongs to the 1st Tank division (August 1941) :

The tanks in the photo are the version modelled by Trumpeter as the KV Small Turret, though they should strictly speaking be designated KV-1 (Small Turret KVs had the pointed mantlet)

Trumpeter KV

Note the tanks in the photo have applique armour on the hull sides and front and have AA MG mountings on the commander's hatch. It's possible that Kolobanov's tank could have been a KV-1E as they are evident in photos from the early part of the German invasion.
