I need help fiinding more photos on an M113 Assault Bridge Layer. I have seen two photos of two different types. One was the Marginal Terrain Assault Bridge Layer Used by 11th Cav in 1969 Nam. But while searching for more photos I came a cross another type. Any photos or lynks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jeff
I've just done a quick search in my reference books and there is a Marginal Terrain Assault Bridge Layer pictured in the following books : Simon Dunstan's Vietnam Tracks, Concord's Armor of the Vietnam War and the old Squadron's M113 in action and Armor in Vietnam. In fact the vehicle pictured is the same in the 4 books, but the pics are different : it belongs to the "A" Troop, 4th Cavalry, 25th Infantry Division. It has the number "114" painted on the side. On the picture from Vietnam Tracks, it is accompanied by another bridge layer M113 numbered 115. I can send you some scans if you want. Just PM me your e-mail...

Hi Jeff,
I know there's a Dutch modeller, Marcel von Hobe who has built a m113 bridgelayer (the US version) see here:
http://www.wargamer.com/Hosted/Panzer/twenot2005b/index4.html
I have an article he wrote on this build (I could scan it for you if you like) If you want I could try and contact Marcel von Hobe and ask if he's got some more reference for you (but if I remember correctly I already did ask him when I wanted to do one myself and reference is very hard to find, but I can always ask again
) .
I think I've seen the picture of 'the other' m113 bridge layer too, I believe it was a vehicle belonging to the South Vietnamese army.
Good luck
Mark

Frenchy, Thanks I had the concord book and didn't even see the picture. I found it. I also just ordered up the Vietnam tracks book. Thanks that helps a lot.

Dear sir,
I would love to have a scan copy of the article. Would it be too much to ask if you can forward the article to me too? Thank you. M113 are my favourite.
Regards,
Desmond
