Hi all,
it's been quite a long while since I've posted pics of my current work !

Here I am, thanks to Epi, I managed to wire my TOW launcher and now here is how it looks. The build is not finished, I still have some little details to add.

I used Eduard set which is a comprehensive one and drove me near the nervous breackdown to bend the door hinges
I also replaced the kit tires by Blast ones I had before noticing the brand name was incorrectly represented. Oddly, it is the right one on the inner face !

I hope you'll like it. Feel free to send any comments.

Great to see another update, Olivier.
It seems like you nailed the right look of the TOW. Interesting with the tan tube. This will be a great model when finished.

Cheers

Looks great. Good job on it. Now you just need to load it down with some gear. How about some CIPs too? Most HMMWVs in 3 ID had them.

Hi Erik and Gino,
thanks for the comments. It is not combat ready yet.
The CIP's, the crew gear and some other parts (side mirrors, lights clear parts ...) are still missing.
I'll certainly highlight the TOW itself to show the details a little more .

Really nice, How'd you do the winscreen dirt..using oils or thinners? I think the paint job on the TOW and added details..cries out for troops.!

Looks very good indeed! I love the weathering, the dust and dirt is perfect, and looks very realistic. The wiring for the TOW also looks very good and adds some extra detail to Tamiyas rather simple kit.

Thanks Nick.
The dust on the windscreen is simply some water with a drop of buff in it. You brush the glasses and allow to dry then to remove the excess by "wiping" with a square brush as large as the wipers to get this look.
You can add some pigment around the frame.

Concernig the troops, you're right but maybe you'll have to wait a little as I'm not a figure painter. I'll probably build a small base with one or two dismounted soldiers around the vehicle like at a checkpoint or a stop during the march to Baghdad. I've not decided yet.

Hello,

I uploaded some more pics in my gallery/current project.

Here are some of the launcher :

I'll try to shoot the wiring inside but my camera was stubborn today and the autofocus definitely decided to make blurry pictures

Hi all,
thank you for your so nice comments ! I'm blushing

Epi, all of this is highly due to your excellent help !

Erik, the Eduard PE set is really useful to add some realism to the launcher as Tamiya's is quite basic. BTW your smileys are excellent, where do they come from ?

Modelmaker, this is the 1/35th Tamiya's kit. Sorry, but this post being an update, I didn't think about mentioning it again.

Nice work on the TOW...I like the little brown weathering on the black box(whatever it's called)
I've got quite a few neglected 3/4 built humvees sitting around...when I finally can get to work on them..I'll try your method on the windscreens..

If you do decide on your checkpoint idea for your diorama, a little scratch built barracade would be nice!

Looking forward to the final piece, keep it up Olivier!
