Since there is a "meow" campaign, I think it would be a neat idea if it were to be followed by a "woof woof" campaign, with the name of the vehicles being named after dogs and canines ( foxes, wolves, jackals etc ).

There is the Walker Bulldog, the Staghound, the Dingo, the Greyhound, the Fennek, the Fox, etc etc etc.

What do you think ? ( is for 2007 though )

I like the idea but the subject matter seems more limited.

I'd be interested in this campaign, especially as it seems much more 'allied' in the matter of subjects

Cheers

As someone who had a roommate with two ferrets (the furry type, not armored), I can assure you that ferrets don't woof. It's more of a squeak. Besides, the ferret is a weasel, not a canine.
Just had to point that out.

Like the theme...but I concur it´s a little narrow to choose an entry for it.

But it could be a nice oportunity to build another TPZ-1 Fuchs and another Walker Bulldog.... :-)

Count me in....

Concerning the Fennek:

IIRC the animal is a related to foxes, and hence to dogs.

Concerning the vehicle:

It is the new armored reconnaisance vehicle for the German Bundeswehr and the Dutch army, in service since late 2004. Supposedly state of the art, and according to an acquaintance who uses it himself (being the commander of the vehicle) as good if not better in its class then anything that is around that he has seen.
IIRC one of its features is that part of the equipment (monitors and such) inside is moveable (suspended from the ceiling) so that both commander and second in command have easy acces to all the data.

I am not sure, but a few vehicles might even be on their way to Afghanistan.

Supposedly on prime portal a massive walkaround has been added...

Isn't a Brummbar a brown bear or more commonly called a grizzly?

Also im not sure if trying to start this up now for 2007 will be a little too early. By the time the campaign gets around, most might have either forgotten about it or move on to other kits due to the ever changing interest.

Are they not accepting anymore campaigns ideas for the second half of the year? I know we already have quite a few lined up.

Don't worry, I will bring the campaign back to memory before then.

As for the lack of vehicles..

not counting variants, you have a puma, panther, luchs, tiger, leopard and hellcat for the meow campaign...

off course, each of them has ausf a through z early, not so early, on the early side of mid, mid, on the late side of mid, not so late and late production models. All of them kitted to death by various kit producers.

Growler was the tranlation I found for it too but I also remember seeing it translated as Grizzlybear. It depends on how strict you are on the campaign definition. Dogs and canines growl and can be growlers and Bears and dogs share a common prehistoric ancestor. :-)
I've never seen the Fennick before. Very cool! I'ld love one for getting through rush hour traffic....

IIRC the word Brummbär has two different meanings:

1) Applying to the animal it means grizzlybear (AFAIK)

2) Applying to a human it means grumbler/growler.
