There is a blue plastic ribbon about 1.4 cm wide and 0.5 thick that usually ties big paper-made packages like the ones house appliances are shipped. It looks like it could de used for anti-skid(if that is the correct word)floor.the texture is not the same but comes close!btw:Sometimes they put a black one that is slik also good for any kind of skratchbuilding(like frame for window or door with arches) due to its flexibility.Iwas planning on making a steel stairway,a curved one, with the first type for steps and the black one for the sides.what do you think?

I haven't seent that specific item, but you've got a great idea and a good concept. Use what you can find around the house for modeling purposes.
You'll never look at anything the same way, you'll always look at something and ask yourself "how can I use that in 1/35th scale???"

Don't I know it! My swmbo is used to catching me rifling through the rubbish and retrieving and washing "bits" that I might find a use for. She thinks it's sad but keeps me out of the pub. :-)

I know the stuff you mean. I used it for the floor plates in my M4A1. It's very rough looking and meant to give an impression of an interior only but very little can be seen with the turret on. The material is perfect for a metal staircase.

How about pressing it into a layer of putty laid on the surface you want to have that texture/pattern?

That is a beautiful M4A1 Pat, that looks so dirty, you'd think it's real. Good job.
