I've never seen an M88 with Blazer Armor. Not sure if they actually exist. I have only seen tanks with Blazer. Support vehicles such as the M88 usually are not in the front lines and don't need the extra armor to protect against enemy tank fire.

As stated by Gino the M88 has no need for such protection. As amatter of fact a blazer suite would be a hinderance, as equipment mounted on the exterior would have to move either to the interior or rear deck of the vehicle. That is not to say the AEF kit is wrong. Blazer packages are modular and while not utilized, layouts for the vehicle most likely were made and this is what the AEF kit depicts.Just a note there are probably few M88 In IDF service, My estimate is about 20. they would like be under the repair corps rathen than armour it self.

well I had some photo's with M88 in the gaza or westbank where it looks like they are doing a patrol mission and not a repair ( or they had to cross the town to repair something) job.
well I think your right on the blazer point it's not that handy if you need stowage space but
if you need front line repair etc. in enemy fire maybe it is used by the IDF. Altrough i think it is more for pulling tanks back on the road or move the broken ones since a hit on the blazer armor wil hurt any mechanic nearby because of the blast from the blazer armor.
what's your idee on this Shiryon??
should it be jused like that?

The M8 is used to recover tanks as well as provide armored protection for the mechanics moving into combat zones to repair/recover tanks, etc. The picture of the M88 armed or on "patrol" probably was of the vehicle moving to aid a tank that had broken for some reason. They have at least 1 fifty caliber MG and may have more in Isreali service. Note that they are not heavily armored, just more armored than an APC or some such thing. They are NOT a tank and unless they are in dire straits would not conduct anything like offensive operations.
I could see the usefulness of the blazer armor only in certain circumstances, but they are usually provided a tank escort when they move into harm's way.
