Hi,

I'm new to using liquid masks when airbrushing hard edged camoflage scheme and the trouble i'm having is when i peel the mask off the paint layer leaves a jagged lifted edge. I suspect that i have not let the paint cure for long enough but i am not sure, any tips??

thx

Hi Kevin,

I've not used liquid masking before, but perhaps I can help...

What paint are you using? If it's acrylic you should be able to (in theory ) lift the mask within a few minutes.
I generally mask with masking-tape, and the only time I get that darned feathered effect is when the tape has lifted either because it's rubbish tape or because it's lifted due to a naf angle or bolt/rivet.

It also sounds like you're applying the paint too thick, and it's building up around the mask.... almost sounds like you're using an enamel?
