Cat litter is scattered along edge of lanes and some in the centre.
A dark wash has been added to bring out the cracked river bed.
Comments welcome.

solid progress shultz!!
I like the cracks in the river bed, they add a lot of character.
Any idea what you're going to do for grass and foliage yet ?? I have really enjoyed doing foliage and grass lately, you have a lot of areas where you can go wild!! I hope you're looking forward to it.
Keep us posted, I am interested in watching your developments ... especially the riverbed i think that's a great place to put plenty of details.

Thanks for the comments Jon, I'm really not spending as much time on this as I'd like....work commintments.
I think I'm gonna go for a mixture of Heki grass and static grass inter-mingled with some longer woodlands scenic stuff.
As for the river bed, I don't know what to do with that really....longer grass around the edges? afew bull rushes? dont want to hide the cracks too much as that is quite a good feature in itself.
Any ideas for the river bed, more than welcome
Thanks again

Hi mate
you could throw a hell of a lot of detail into that river bed...those wild wet areas grow a lot, and as they dry up leave behind plenty of thick foliage and rich colours.
When I used to go fishing you'd find spots like that round the lake and that's what I think of when I look at your riverbed. As it gets hotter this year all the local ponds will look the same.
That heki grass looks really good from what I've seen of it in pictures. Let me know how you get on ! I might invest in some of that myself. Where did you get it from ??
I don't get the time I'd like to model either. Work really smashes me down sometimes and if I don't get time then I don't get in the mood

hey mate
as regards your river bed...I found these. They're pictures of a stream a gardener has diverted the water from, allowing it to dry up for their own purposes.
It's a bit "dark" in the pictures...I would imagine in the normandy setting the former wetlands would be drying out, to form a sunbleached, dried area of brittle grass and straw-like undergrowth.
Here's the pics, you can see from them how the grass and ground was shaped by the stream...

Thanks for the input Jon, love the pics of the riverbed, particularly pic 2 where the river has cut into the bank, leaving overhanging grass....that's what I'm going for.
Haven't purchased the heki yet, still looking for a uk supplier.
mpre pics will follow soon.
How you doing with the lanes???
Any hedge foliage yet???

The dio's gonna get some attention soon. I have a lot of work left to do and It won't do itself !
The hedges are still bare...for some reason I am hesitant to get started on them. I am still unsure of my methods, it is delaying me sadly
