Hi, everybody out there!
there are several info available on the net on the Panzer 35 (t) and a quick browse will give you a lot of useful material, besides the very nice pics and info given in the previous post.
Note that only the 6. Pz.Div. ever used this tank in France 1940 and I am not familiar of any such tank decorated with a skull's head, but only with usual crosses and numbers as in the very good pics above.
Definitely no connection with the Totenkopf division as at the time of 1940 campaign they did not have any armoured component and in any case were never equipped with this tank.
Regards

I'm building the CMK model right now, and if I remember well the small skull is for a unit that was in germany.
I'm not sur if I'll paint mine for the french campaign, with normal crosses and numbers or the polish campaign, with completely white crosses.

To be honnest with you, I must say that I'm no specialist of the vehicle. I just built mine OOTB. I simply made holes in the mg cannons, and used some picture hanging wire for the tug-wire.
I also did the electrical wiring and made an antenna with metal wire, just as explained in the box.
I was only intending to do a quick and easy build : straight OOTB, no PE, no resin... to get my batteries full.

Hi Sam,

this little kit fits together very well (though the small road weels are nothing for nervous people). One hint: If You didn´t have the budget to invest in Friul-tracks, You can comb the plastic tracks of the kit carefully to achieve the characteristic "hanging effect". That´s because CMK-plastic is very soft. Here I post You my 35 (t), I built 2 month ago for a France-dio.

Sam,
The only reference I have on the 35(t) is a Waffen-Arsenal in german by Horst Scheibert.
It has black and white photos of the 35(t) in Poland, France and Russia. In the section on France (Frankreich), the tanks have the balkankreuz on the rear plate, and on each side of the hull well forward even with the driver and bow machine gunner position.
The vehicle numbers are on the small rhomboid plates on each side of the hull about midway, and on a rhomboid plate on the left rear of the hull. The 6th PzDiv. symbol( an upside down "Y" and 2 dots to the right of the straight part of the "Y"), is on the front between the hull machine gun and the pot for the radio antenna.
I hope this will help you

Sander,
The panzer rhomboid is a parallelogram. Look at some Polish and French campaign pictures of panzers and you will see what I mean. The Germans marked the vehicle number on a metal plate which was located on the side of the vehicle.

Hi Sam,
the tank crew is Tamiya´s "German Tank Crew at Rest" (Item N° 201). I find that they fit very well to the 35 (t), if You paint them in black and give them the 1940 head gear (There is only one figure You have to modify it). In any cease this is a good and cheap solution.
Respect the bolts: May be they are a bit small, but if You give it a black undercoat, creating depth around the bolts, and finish with a good drybrush, the result comes out handy - at least in my opinion. Enjoy bulding and keep us posted!
