Hi Rick,
The U.S. didn't use the Priest Kangaroo. And other than the French, I don't believe the U.S. exported any 155mm Howitzer M1 under lend-lease. The 155mm howitzer M1would have been towed by truck or high speed tractor during WW II.

Preist Kangaroos were used exclusively as APCs by the what would become the 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment after their conversion to Rams Kangaroos. The Priest Kangaroos were far too valuable as APCs to be used to tow artillery around (espcially when there were perfectly good prime movers available for the taking). Except for the very small possibility that one might have been used to temporarily move an arty piece for another unit (and the unit history doesn't mention this at all) I think it is safe to say that the Kangaroos were never used as prime movers. And, as they were issued only to the Canadian unit and we (nor anyone else in the Commonwealth) never used the 155 howizer, it is a pretty safe bet to say that the combo was never seen at all.

Sorry,

Paul
