We need a new main page. The home page is just links. Its boring....it sux All I see are links and submit a site.
The main page should be the sexiest part of the site, its a portal to take you to the other areas. Where are the pics?
I am all for evolving change but dont step backwards. It used to have reviews, the most recent posts, news, etc......
Tell me you are working on a new one. If you are why cant you leave the old one up till you finish the new one?

hmmm....anyone else seeing just the links directory for https://armorama.kitmaker.net. That is odd if so. You should be seeing everything EXCEPT the links.
What is the url you have bookmarked for the site?
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, I too am only seeing the links. No pics, no reviews or anything else. I see this at home or work. I am going through
www.armorama.com
Two days ago when I first logged in I saw what was similar to the old opening page, but when I logged back in an hour or two late I was just getting the links to ohter sites
Sean
Edit: I just read your link a little more closely and realized the mistake I have been making. It should be
afv.armorama
I guess I missed the update somewhere that I needed to change to that for my favorites setting. I suspect many others may be making the same mistake. that being said I do like the new design, espcially now that I have realized my mistake.

Jim I too am only seeing the links. I use https://armorama.kitmaker.net/
only pics I see are the adverts on the RHS and a box with the community Australia symbol in it with a clickable link to it. The rest is just links below the links for Campaigns, Community, events, features, forums etc.
I acually miss the original armor home page as well.
Cheers
Cliff
PS> the reason I have not mentioned this before is because you and other staff are saying patience, the site is still undergoing change but as no real timeframe has been set how are we, the members, to know what is and what is not wrong!?

Hi all
Very odd - I use the .com or .co.uk sites and they're fine here. I normally run with an Aircraft focus, but I cleared all my cookies and reset for Default. This is the .com homepage I see:
All the best

OK after reading Rowans reply I deleted all cookies and tempory files and then went to Armorama.com/ I saw the page that Rowan put up in his post. I logged in again and once the page refreshed with me logged in I got just the links page back again like it has been all week.

Hmm....that is really odd. I can only guess it's some old cached info in your browser but that should definately not happen.
For those still having that issue, try this link:

Thanks,
Jim

Same issue as the rest Jim. I clicked on your link and it is the same deal. I dump all my cookies and history and caches daily and it is always the same. I also still can not access my account info to change my password etc. This has been a problem for over three months now. I have a new computer and still have th same issues.

The new pages with the posts on the left and the adverts on the right are really a nice change. Gives the latest posts page a new life, like there's more elbow room.

No dramas for me 800 kilometres North of Cliff. I have the same page that Rowan has.

Dave,
I am sorry. I still don't have any internal idea why you would be having this issue and not very many others (if any) are. If the issues described here cannot be duplicated in a test environment there is no real easy way for me to fix them. The likelyhood is that there is some 3rd party application that is affecting all these scenarios (spyware, security, anti-virus, firewall, etc) and I just don't have enough into to go on to help you out.
So what happens when you guys (who are havnig this issue) go to other sites in the network?
www.modelshipwrights.com
www.modelgeek.com
And Dave does your account panel work on either of those sites?

jim,
I was seeing the normal home page until I logged in so I could reply to a posting. After logging in I could only access the links page. I logged out and again could access the normal home page.
Hope this helps
Don

Like some others here I wasn't going to say anythign about the home page having only the links, but that is what I was getting also. After reading this thread I deleted my cookies, and went back on and saw what the home page should look like. Unfortunately when I logged on I went right back to the links only page. I really hope this can get fixed as that page frankly sucks.
EDIT: I'll never understand computers. After spending an hour or so surfing ModelGeek when I went back to Armorama via my favorite link I went right to the correct home page, not the one with just links. I hope this is the way it's going to be from now on. Now to delete cookies and history in the other two computers I use so I will get to where I want.

I made a quick change to the system that checks your cookie for "theme" setting. I ripped this out as well as the ability to configure a "focus" theme setting. If you want to access one of the focus areas (aircraft, armor, figures, dios) you need to use the URL at the top of the site as your homepage. That simple.
Cheers,
Jim

Jim, like the others I was getting only the link page. Now it goes to the regular start page with no problem. This happened this morning after you made whatever changes and I dumped my cookies again. Works great now, thanks.
