Here is the gun truck Wild Thing of the 815th Engineer Co. This truck is in the OD green and has graphics. The first photo is the original truck in Nam and the others are of the truck as it is today. I am building this model using the photos as my guide.

Hey Dave.
Looks really good. Looking at all the white on the undercarriage has me wondering whether the kit you are using is that inaccurate or was "Wildthing" modified from it's original design?
Can't wait to see the finished product.

Thanks Prato.
David, thanks. The model is made up of a highly modified AFV Club M 35 A2 kit and scratch built parts. The chassis is from the Italeri M 925 kit along with the wheels. the gun box, exhaust turbo booster can and the armor is all scratch built from Evergreen plastic stock. The original photo I have is of one of four variations this truck went through. It stated out on a 2 1/2 ton truck. Then a short box on the five ton, and as in original the photo. The final version was almost as you see the replica. The real truck did not have all the graphics on the front windshield and the Stars were not on the truck as well. My model will be more like the original version in its final version.

Mostly from the photos. I also get some of the info from the crews who built these trucks. And from personal experience with these trucks.
