I wanted to share some photo's of my latest work in progres.
I'm turning a Academy M-113A2 in to a M-113A3.
I've started on the interior (a very simplified version as I'm only going to have some of the haches open).
I have to thank Henri-Pierre (Frenchy) for the interior photo's that are helping me a great deal.
So less talking more photo's

Now I can see it! Great build of the spall liners, never occured to me how to make them functional, and you have done it in a great way.

Looking forward to see it finished

Cheers

The interior scratchbuilding is almost done just need to do the driverstation and need to figure out how to install the seats, I'm keeping the workload small as ist a very basic interior. The hardest part was doing the sidepanels (measuring, cutting dry fitting measuring againg trimming ).
But I thingk it turned out good

Looking good. One thing you may want to change is teh radio. Series 12/PRC-77 radio hasn't ben used since the mid-'90s. Current radio is the SINCGARS. Pro Art and MR Models both do SINCGARS sets that are very nice. Good job, it is coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing the completed model.

Does this particular Academy kit come with the interior? Apart from the scratch built portions, the other interior parts looked like you grabbed it from another kit.

If the interior comes with the kit, thats going on my shopping list.

The Academy M-113A2 comes with an interior (and some other goodies). I got a couple but have not got around to build one yet. Looks like a great kit.

Thats awesome. Im slowly falling in love with Academy's range. Am currently building the M163 kit that uses the M113A2 hull and i have to say that im really impressed by it so far.

Jeremy, in addition to the above mentioned kit, you can also get the Vietnam Version, also Academy, it has the same parts of the Academy M113A2 (minus the external fuel cells) plus:

- Enough parts to make many different versions: (australian, with the twin turret), american flame thrower, korean and vitnamese versions and includes a 106mm recoiless gun.
- Parts to build a vietnam era ACAV M113
- Individual plastic tracks, along with the vinyl ones
- A civil female vietnamese figure plus 3 crew members
- Full interior
- A lot of extra parts to make it look busy

Both kits really worth what you pay for them

Cheers

the academy M-113's are the best.
only down side is the amount of push marks and sink holes but the rest of the kit makes up for that
