I would like to make a diorama of the Ardennes Offense using U.S. figures and U.S. tank but, I do not want to use a Sherman. I have plenty of diorama's with Shermans. Does any body know what other tanks the U.S. used in the Battle of the Bulge? I read the M26 Pershing came late in 1945. So I assume it wasn't in the Ardennes. Any idea's out there?

You could use an M10 Tank Destroyer, M5 Stuarts and off course M16 or M21 halftracks

Like Alan says, you're pretty limited when it comes to "tanks" to a Sherman or an M5 Stuart.

If you don't mind another Sherman-based AFV, there were many M-10 tank destroyers (as Alan said), the M7 Priest self-propelled howitzer, the M-12 gun motor carriage, or even a few M-36 tank destroyers.

Non-Sherman AFVs possibly include M-18 TDs (this one I'm not too sure on), a wide variety of half tracks, and the M-8 and M-20 armored cars. The M-8 howitizer motor carriage was also used.

By saying "no Shermans" you are really limiting yourself, because the Battle of the Bulge saw a wide variety of Sheman variants, from the early M4s and M4A1s, to the 76mm M4A1s, and of course the M4A3s (in 75mm, 76mm and 105mm -- and a few with HVSS, plus the M4A3E2 "Jumbo").

All of the above are available in 1/35th scale kits.

You could also use the M-18 hellcat or the armored cars.

You could also use the M-18 hellcat or the armored cars. the Cahffe made its appearance toward the end. Basically anything the US had in service, they used. You are right that you could not use an M-26 at anypoint during the Ardennes though.

You're quite right. M26 werent ready during the time of the BoB. As already mentioned by other members, you have limited yourself quite a fair bit by eliminating Shermans from your Dios.

Apart from the ones already mentioned, you really only have figures from Easy Company.

If you mix and match German and Allied troops, that would be a really interesting dio.

How about M-24 Chaffees? 740th Tank Battalion has two M-24s during the Battle of the Bulge. There's a picture in Osprey and Concord book being inspected by 82nd Airborne troops.
