Hi guys
I know that the former USSR supplied North Korean forces with the T-34/85s before they invaded the south. My question is did the USSR give them any other armor ? Any of the SU series maybe ? I'm thinking / planning on doing a Korean war dio later this summer and I'm looking for something different.
Thanks in advance
Harry

Hi
Yes the T-34s but also SU76's (Both early and late types) and a single captured British Comet used locally..
There are reports of Chinese JS2's held by the border but NOT deployed.

Wait for the MiniArt SU-76, the Dragon/Alan one is a thing of horror.
There are pictures of Chinese IS-2s on trains and so forth, but they aren't known to have seen action. IIRC there may have also been some ISUs.
BTW the captured British tank was a Cromwell. There are photographs of one, taken after recapture, with Korean writing on the bow.

Concords book on the Korean War has some good shots of Korean T-34's and SU-76's.
BTW The Cromwell was captured by the Chinese not the Koreans.

There is also evidence of Chinese ISU-152s being deployed near to the border, but these did not see any action!
