Why aren't the "Off-Topic" & "Site-Related" & all the "Hosted" forums available on Model Shipwright's page ??
We're going to loose the community feel ...

John,
By "page" I am guessing you mean the Latest Posts page? They are on the right. Just as they are on Armorama. If you are on the ModelGeeks site they are on the left as that is their "home" site. This setup has been the same for a few weeks now.
The forums also appear on the main forum page of all the sites. A lot of site users don't actually use the LP page. Silly them... :-)

No, Jim, I do not like nor do I use "Latest Posts". I suspect I'm not the only one. I use "Forums" to navigate here and on all other sites I visit. I like Forums, I am happy with Forums.
They are not on the Forums page of Model Shipwrights (MSW).
This was also a subject of discussion (by other than me) on Model ShipWrights, Chartroom I believe, to which you replied today:
"I guess I was thinking that it was usually Military History, but Armorama does not have the corner on that market now so I guess, yes it should go in the network forums area."
so I guess you are aware of it. Halfyank, your History Moderator hangs on MSW & can't see his own forum. Folks on MSW who are A-Guard cannot see the A-Guard Forum. Any female MSW folks can't see their forum. Etc ...

John,
As stated in the other post. ("Site Talk" for MSW) some of the forums may indeed end up in the all network group. However Armorama Angels, as the name implies right now would remain (doh!) on Armorama. Since that is where it's based. As with Large Scale, Der Sonntag Bund Club, A-Guard Team HQ, and MAFIA - Blokes In Pin Stripe Suits. I am not following the logic as to why those forums should appear on the MSW forum homepage. Wouldn't that lead to just listing all the forums there? Nice for some I am sure but a REALLY BAD performance hit for the page and thus every user on the site when the site starts to crawl like a snail. :-)
Cheers,
Jim
PS: And Rodger can easily see his forum by clicking two whole times.

Jim:
If the Angels are all tankies, then OK. DSB I don't even understand. Note sure Large Scale applies to ships, etc.
If there are users on MSW who are A-Guard, then A-Guard ought to be listed -- for their convenience.
History draws from all venues -- it has gone downhill since the split -- it needs to be visible.
"Just two clicks" is a techie response ... it isn't a user response ...
The community is fragmenting, the aircraft move will do exacerbate this. Bandwidth & response isn't everything.
No need to respond, we're not going anywhere.

Sure we are... circles. :-)
Seriously, thanks for the feedback though.
Jim
PS: It's not a bandwidth or response thing as all these sites are running on the same server and using the same resources. It's more of a structural move.

Ok.... At first I didn't care for the "Split" But it's not such a bad thing. It's not all that hard to get use to the "new" Latest Posts page..... So there's a Few more "Clicks"... Not a bg deal to me..... Yes ther's Carryover forums...... But (for the most part) they're all on Modelgeek....... I think there's a Few things that could be better.... But It's a Work in Progress!!!!!
